Star Trek Fleet Command's Update 94 Reworks the Battle Pass Around Player Choice
The update also folds in server-transfer and event-scoring adjustments the studio made earlier in August.
Scopely has rolled out Update 94, titled “Cause and Effect,” for its strategy MMO Star Trek Fleet Command. The patch notes, published August 20, centre on changes to the Battle Pass: instead of a single fixed reward track, the studio says players now earn Choice Tokens that can be spent across several reward exchanges.
The stated aim is to give players more control over what a Battle Pass season yields, so an account can steer rewards toward the resources or ship parts it actually needs rather than working through a predetermined list. Per Scopely’s feature notes, the tokens appear at points throughout the pass and the exchanges each offer a different reward pool.
The update also gathers up adjustments the studio shipped earlier in the month. Per its August posts, Scopely changed the scoring for the “Voyage Across the Void” event to push play toward its core activities, and it rolled out what it calls smoother server transfers, described as faster and more reliable moves between servers, ahead of the cross-server Infinite Incursions event. The studio said the transfer work also addressed problems reported in recent transfer windows.
For PC players, Star Trek Fleet Command offers a desktop client for Windows and macOS through Scopely’s launcher. The larger display and the ability to leave the game running suit its long build timers, station management and the multi-account play common in established alliances. Battle Pass changes matter on the desktop client the same way they do on mobile, since the pass is a shared progression and monetization track across platforms. Scopely has said in earlier posts that giving players more say over rewards is part of a broader push on progression flexibility rather than a one-off change.
What this means for players
- Plan Battle Pass seasons around the new Choice Tokens: decide which exchange pool matches your account’s bottleneck before spending.
- The “Voyage Across the Void” scoring change rewards core activities more heavily, so old point-farming routines may be less efficient.
- Server transfers should be more reliable ahead of Infinite Incursions, per Scopely.
- Nothing here changes the desktop client’s role, but the pass rework applies to it in full.
